History

Since its founding, the company has built a complete production chain covering raw material extraction, the production of Georgian cement and concrete, and laboratory quality control

Company founded

2005

Georgian Building Group (GBG) was founded and began cement production. The company's mission was defined as supplying the Georgian market with cement and concrete of the highest standard, with the customer's interests in mind.

ISO 9001:2015

2015

TÜV SÜD awarded GBG the international ISO certificate: ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System (QMS).

Entry into the concrete market

2018

GBG added concrete production to its cement plant. New crushing units were installed for the production of inert materials, and a concrete fleet was established. This development gave GBG the ability to deliver concrete directly to site anywhere in Tbilisi and its surrounding area.

ISO 45001:2018

2018

TÜV SÜD awarded GBG the "ISO 45001:2018 — Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)" certificate.

EBRD Award for Energy Efficiency

2019

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) presented GBG with an award for its contribution to advancing energy efficiency in industry. The award was granted following the installation of a top-quality air filtration system.

Second concrete plant opened

2020

GBG opened its second concrete plant in Tbilisi, on the 4th Lane of Tvalchrelidze Street, with a capacity of 100 m³/h.

Certification

At GBG, high quality is an uninterrupted system, not a coincidence. Every stage of concrete and cement production — from raw material extraction to concrete delivery on site — is managed in accordance with the international ISO 9001:2015 standard (Quality Management System — QMS). Every process has clearly defined procedures and control points.

Occupational safety and health protection are organised on the same principle — in accordance with the ISO 45001:2018 (OHSMS) standard. Both certificates are issued by the authoritative German organisation TÜV SÜD and are verified through regular periodic audits.

Georgian cement, ready-mix concrete, inert materials and related services — every stage of production is carried out at GBG’s high-tech facilities.

Inert materials

Production of gravel, crushed stone and sand at the Mokhisi plant. Fully graded materials for concrete and construction mixes — timely delivery in any volume.
